I. How to pass DMV roadtest and not fail in intersection
1. DMV Inspector will evaluate your "Poor judgement approaching or at intersection" by checking:
a. Speed you have approaching intersection
b. How you turn (wide-short) at intersection
c. If you stop at intesection
d. How you observe what going around you at intersection
e. If you fail signaling turning right-left
When preparing to this part of road test you should keep in mind always slow down,
observe for cars or pedestrians before your car, if needed stop. Use common sense judgement, if you see pedestrians
even going across intersection on red light, stop, safety is most important, does not matter who has right top move,
otherwise you fail.
Very important move your head over shoulder to check blind spot. Doing that you skipping accidents.
Different part of "Poor judgement approaching or at intersection" is
"Fails to stop near center of intersection when waiting to make left turn".
Remember middle of the intersection is very important place. It should be clear, you can get ticket and 2 points if you
stand at the intersection, so approaching it you should be sure that you able to cross it.
If you making left turn and you see line of cars crossing intersection on the street with opposite direction you should
wait untill they pass. Fail to wait can result in accident, and in case you are not waiting you fail your road test.
How long you should wait? If all cars passing by before light change, you can go, if line so long that light change before
they proceed, you can make left turn when you see next car stoping before red light. You should move that time as you
already at intersection.
Remember, only at intersection you can get ... 70 points. Unfortunately, that is serious. On each point like speed, turnining
stopping, observing, signal, "Fails to stop near center of intersection when waiting to make left turn"
you can get 10 points, turns wide-short can bring you 5 points each.
Last part of the intersection is how you relate to signs and Lane Markings, approaching intersection. It is called to be
"Inattentive to traffic".You should note driving Stop signs (differ regular Stop from all way Stop) and not cross or cross lawfull Lane Marking. Here you
